How the calculator works

  1. Enter the number of restaurant clients that you serve in a month, and the photos that each client needs.
  2. Enter the price that you charge for one photo. The quote for one client is that price multiplied by the photos.
  3. Enter the cost of one photo now. This is your photographer, your editor or your staff time.
  4. The calculator compares that cost with MenuPhotoAI. It uses the cheapest mix of our list prices, then adds your handling cost.

We make MenuPhotoAI, so we have an interest in the result. For that reason the calculator shows each number that it uses, and it uses list prices only.

When this method does not fit

  • MenuPhotoAI needs a photo of the real dish. If the client has no photos, someone must take them.
  • If the client needs people in the photo, the dining room, or an advertising campaign, book a photographer.
  • Platform rules differ. Deliveroo does not permit AI-generated images. See what each delivery platform allows.

How does the calculator work out my margin?

It multiplies your clients by the photos per client and by your price per photo. That is your revenue for the month. It then subtracts your production cost. It shows the result for the cost that you pay now and for the cost with MenuPhotoAI.

How does it work out the MenuPhotoAI cost?

It finds the cheapest mix of one monthly plan and credit packs for the number of photos that you enter. It uses our list prices and no discounts. One credit makes one photo. It then adds your handling cost, which is the value of your own time on each photo.

Does MenuPhotoAI need a real photo of each dish?

Yes. MenuPhotoAI makes a professional menu photo from a photo of the real dish. You or your client take that photo, and a phone photo is enough. It does not make a dish from a text description.

Can I deliver the photos to my clients?

Yes. Our terms let you use the finished photos for any commercial purpose, and you can pass them to your clients. The terms also give us rights to the photos that you upload, so read section 5 before you upload client photos. Do not share your account login with clients.

Read the terms

Do delivery apps accept AI-improved photos?

The rules differ by platform, and they changed in 2026. Deliveroo says that AI-generated images are not permitted. Check the rules of each platform before you upload photos for a client.

Do I need an account to use the calculator?

No. The calculator runs in your browser. We do not store the numbers that you enter.
