FoodGlow alternatives for restaurant photos (2026)
Disclosure: we make MenuPhotoAI, one of the alternatives on this page, so we are biased. We have not tested FoodGlow ourselves. Everything we say about it comes from its own website or from public reviews, with the source linked, and we say where its offer is better than ours.

Short answer
People who look for a FoodGlow alternative usually want one of three things: a free test before they pay, a clear number of photos for their money, or a pay-once option from another provider. MenuPhotoAI offers all three: 5 free photos, one credit for one photo, and one-time packs whose credits do not expire.
- Test free, on your real dish: MenuPhotoAI. 5 free photos, no card
- Know exactly what you are buying: MenuPhotoAI. 25 photos for $49 once, with 2 free re-edits on each
- Pay once, smallest amount: FoodPhoto.ai. 10 photos for $5. Or MenuPhotoLab, 20 photos for $13
- Low monthly price, phone apps: FoodShot AI. $15 a month for 25 photos
- Stay with FoodGlow if: it works for you and you like its scene and angle controls. Its lifetime price is the cheapest here on paper if you need many photos
FoodGlow and five alternatives at a glance
| Tool | How you pay | Lowest paid option | Free test |

| MenuPhotoAI (ours) | Monthly plan, or a one-time pack | 25 photos for $49 once; or $39 a month | 5 credits, watermarked |
| FoodPhoto.ai | Monthly plan, or a one-time pack | 10 photos for $5 once | 2 previews, watermarked |
| MenuPhotoLab | One-time pack, or a monthly plan | 20 photos for $13 once | 5 photos |

What FoodGlow offers
FoodGlow improves a photo you upload. It can change the scene and background, change the camera angle, change the plate and rearrange the food on it. It lists downloads up to 4K.
Its pricing is unusual. The plans on its site are one-time payments: Essential at $27, Plus at $34 and Teams at $67, each described as lifetime access with unlimited generations. The Teams plan adds five seats and bulk upload. No other tool on this page sells lifetime access, and if you need many photos over a long time, nothing here is cheaper on paper.
Why people look for an alternative
Four things come up. We give the source for each so that you can check it yourself.
- Reports that paying users cannot generate photos. On Trustpilot, FoodGlow has a score of 1.8 out of 5 from 24 reviews (checked on 2 October 2026). Most of the reviews posted between June and September 2026 report a "servers are busy" message or say that the reviewer could not generate images after paying. Several say that support did not reply. One review, from February 2026, is positive, and several of the critical reviewers say the results were good while the service worked. We have not tested the service and cannot say whether it works today. If you are a current user, your own experience is the better guide.
- "Unlimited" has a daily limit. FoodGlow's terms say that a daily fair-use limit applies to each plan and resets every 24 hours, and that extra generation packs are sold. The limits and pack prices are not published, so you cannot work out a cost per photo before you buy.
- The refund has a condition. The plans show a 30-day guarantee. The refund policy excludes anyone who has processed more than 50 images.
- Prices differ between its own pages. The plan cards show $27, $34 and $67. Its terms mention a lifetime price of $29, and a question on its pricing page mentions $47 and a monthly plan at $9.99. Check the total at checkout.
If you paid for FoodGlow and cannot use it
We cannot help with another company's account, but two facts may be useful. FoodGlow's plans show a 30-day guarantee, and its refund policy sets a 30-day limit for one-time purchases and excludes accounts that have processed more than 50 images, so ask early. Its refund page names Paddle as the merchant of record, so a question about a charge can also go to Paddle's support for buyers.
Why no alternative sells "unlimited for life"
Every AI photo costs the provider real money to make. A tool that charges once and promises unlimited photos needs a limit somewhere, and FoodGlow's terms add a daily one. The other tools here charge per photo or per month. It is less attractive on the pricing page, and easier to plan around: you know how many photos you get.
If the one-time payment is what you liked about FoodGlow, look at the tools that sell packs. You pay once, the credits do not expire, and there is no subscription to cancel.
A note on delivery apps
Uber Eats asks that a photo accurately represents one menu item. DoorDash asks for real photos of the actual item, and for virtual brands it does not permit "evidently AI-generated images, heavily altered images, or images that create a misleading representation of the item". A feature that rearranges the food or changes the camera angle can change how the dish looks, so compare the result with the real plate before you upload it.
Deliveroo is stricter. Its help page says "AI-generated images are not permitted on Deliveroo", and from 9 October 2026 its partner policy covers any image made in whole or in part with generative AI. We make the images; where you upload them is your decision, so read each platform's rules first. See Deliveroo and Just Eat.
The alternatives, one by one
1. MenuPhotoAI (ours)
- Best for
- Menu and delivery photos that start from your real dish, with re-edits included
- Price
- Free: 5 credits. One-time packs: 25 photos for $49, 50 for $65, 100 for $119. Plans: $39 a month for 25 photos, $49 for 50, $89 for 100
- What it does
- Makes a new version of your photo: new light, background and surface. Built to keep the food and your own plate
MenuPhotoAI costs more than FoodGlow's one-time price, and far more if you need hundreds of photos. What it offers in return is a published number of photos, a free test on your own dish, and 2 free re-edits with each photo.
It only works from a photo you upload. The "Keep mine" setting keeps your own plate, bowl or branded packaging. You can upload 25 photos at a time and give them all one look. The one-time packs do not expire, so you can pay once here too.
No AI tool is perfect, so check each result against the real plate.

- Your photos go on Uber Eats or DoorDash and you want them made in each app's shape
